After the recent mixed bag of weather, it’s safe to say we are now officially on the slippery slope to another long, cold Scottish winter. Here at Frontiers Man we pride ourselves being able to fit you out in a Jacket that will be able to protect you against anything mother nature can (and almost certainly will) throw at you. Stutterheim
Inspired by fisherman’s oilskins, these classic but distinctively Scandinavian raincoats are made with one thing in mind, creating a barrier to the elements, and boy they’re good at it. Made from 100% waterproof, vulcanised rubber with a bonded cotton liner and produced by specialists every step of the way. We carry both the original 530g heavyweight ‘Stockholm’ jacket designed to last a lifetime and the 230g lightweight ‘Stockholm’ – designed to be a portable, packable version of the original, that’s great for layering over knitwear on slightly milder days. Welter Shelter
The ‘Terror Spoiler’, This Parka style jacket offers no nonsense classic, minimalist styling combined with modern technical materials and weather proofing techniques, including ‘Meida’ insulation – a lightweight, super warm, breathable alternative to down, laminated waterproof coating and a cross weaved nylon outer, soft enough to mistaken as cotton whilst still being able to stop the strongest wind cutting through. Also, by Welter Shelter, a new style for us, the ‘Puff Paddy’ this is an updated jacket from them, also 100% weather proof take on a classic ‘puffer’ jacket. Featuring Welter Shelters signature weather proofing features – recycled polyester Meida insulation, a textured cotton outer that is membraned to be fully waterproof and a two-way, sealed zip. This is a jacket that will hold up to the most severe weather and is undeniably modern. Available in faded green.
Ecoalf
We currently stock ten plus Ecoalf jackets in-store at Frontiers, but easily the most serious and most adaptable jacket is the ‘Katman’. I say adaptable as the jacket is a 3 in one. It’s a shell, a liner jacket and an all-in-one foul weather jacket.
The liner is a standalone jacket that’s reminiscent of their ‘Asp’ jacket, one of our staples, a hooded puffer jacket, made from their signature recycled bottles and fishing nets, great to be worn on chilly or variable days. The shell is waterproof, lightweight, and breathable. Its features include a 2-way waterproof zip to front, underarm ventilation zips, inseam access front pockets (also waterproof zippers), outer chest pocket & sleeve pocket. The jackets appearance is sleek, modern and mountainclimber-esq. and has drawstrings and Velcro on every aperture to seal you in.
